Argh. On Monday I depart for America. I should be excited, I should be thankful. But frankly, I'm scared. I hate flying and I am REALLY nervous about the flight to San Fran. I wish someone could knock me out. Actually, I wish I was not going at all.

I'm stupid. But phobias are illogical and irrational.

This game is amazing. Period. Words cannot describe. The same goes for AVATAR. Oh, love love love.

And although it was marred by a thoroughly evil Biochemistry exam in the morning time and a depressing lack of trick or treaters, I still got delicious Halloween chocolates from Maman. Mmm. And I shall retire now to watch a vampire film, or three. NOT TWILIGHT. Probably a Hammer... or Fright Night. Or FVK. Oh wait... Lugosi Dracula! Yus! He and Lee Dracula are my faves..

I pulsate violently as I think of the disturbing weeks to come. O' why are exams so evil!
I have my first this week. A Pharmacology lab exam. Caloo Calay, what joyous joys...so I have five in total.
But I should be happy because afterwards I shall be free! Excellent. Although I don't want it to be my birthday because I am afraid of turning 20 D:
I need to make some New Year's Resolutions to be less afraid of everything and less morose about what happens in my daily life. It's lame being this way.

I am currently in the library next to some dude who is sleeping on top of his keyboard and making distressing grunting noises every few seconds. Er... I am studying for Pharmacology and going through the smelly online labs. I'd really rather be in the AV library watching Andy Warhol's Flesh for Frankenstein or any of Dario Argento's wondrous films. I watched Suspiria. It was amazing. Different to any other movie I have ever seen. A visual and auditory treat with it's fantastical lighting and wonderful soundtrack. It was creepy too.

So yah...that's it for now. Another boring entry with me moaning about the trivial things I have to do in my life and the movies I watch.
Woop woop. I can't wait until summer.

Hammer Horror! Mmm my icon. I wish I didn't have an exam on Halloween so I could have a horror movie marathon. Adrienne and I might be having a movie marathon sometime in the holidays... I hope this happens. Nats I would so be up for any kind of movie marathon with you.

And... I decided on my favourite movie OF ALL TIME. Fo' shur and fo' serious.

Why?
- I love vampire movies, period. Especially ones actually set in Eastern Europe a hundred or so years back
- Roman Polanski is a great director

- It has a very romantic, fantastical feel

It's the first beautiful day in weeks and I've got a nasty sore throat. My maman came home yesterday morning and I'm so happy she's back.

My lab exam is in less than two weeks and the other exams follow soon after. Needless to say...it shall not be fun.

I have an exam on Halloween. I wanted to have a Halloween movie marathon but alas. I need to see the rest of the Hammer Horror Dracula series and also the two Count Yorga films. I still want to see Captain Kronos but I don't think it's available anywhere.

I watched my favourite movie a couple more times <3

haro. i am in zhe IC level 4 study area, pulsating about and struggling to write an incredibly boring report on neurodegeneration.
my mum is away in inglund and i miss her!
i am so obsessed with hammer horror right now. so very obsessed, it is bordering on unhealthy! 8B durh...
i watched out of the blue, taste the blood of dracula and texas chainsaw massacre this weekend. they were all verrah awesome.
it was jonathan's birthday on saturday. we had cake and neenish tarts, went bowling and then had delicious japanese at bowz. mmmmmm...
plans for the week?! study study study. tidy my room for it is yuck! reports and ASSignments. i got like two hours sleep (literally) last week, i was up all night writing my pharmacology assignment. 3000 words on prozac. how depressing.

the week from hell is over. praise be. i am so tired and washed out from everything but i have to study for monday's special treat: genetics test worth 37.5 %. it's worth as much as the final exam! oh lordy. pharmacology on tuesday was orright, hard enough though. the nameless horror on friday was terrible even though i worked so very hard. nerves always get the better of me. neuro was hard also, the same afternoon. i have to get started on my audiometry and visual pathways lab reports as well as write my drug assignment for pharm worth 20%!!!!! thinking of studying prozac/fluoxetine.

my dad is away at reno air races. the rest of us went out for dinner at the quaint little italian nearby 'me ne frego'. i had goat pasta and later, a hotcake with galliano, pine nuts and custard for dessert. it was a lovely evening until we returned to our car and found the back window smashed, a tote bag full of hats taken. they destroyed our car for a bag filled with caps?!!! man, so very often my faith in humanity takes a blow. it's hard not to think how they all suck so very much.

i watched bride of re-animator and it was beautiful and splendid. herbert west is so very funny and crazee. he he.

no time to chill though D: i have to get going on genetics *evil* and all my other shiz. my room is so messy...

Free as the wind

I am free. Freedom pelts through my veins like heavy fire, setting me alight. For the first time since March I am free.
I can be idle and I am happy. My exams are over and holidays are mine. I still have to do piano for my exam is in September.
I am sitting my Learner's next week. Finally. I've put it off for too long! It has become like a mountain in my mind. Little chilluns can do it so I am pretty sure I can.
We are going to The Gold Coast on Monday the 6th. Looking forward to it but fearing the flight, majorly! Especially after what has happened.
I had my last exam on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday we went to Pearl Garden for Yum Cha. Oh so delicious. On Friday I went to Nats' farewell party. It was so much fun but I am so sad :( She's going to Wellington tomorrow.
I've been playing Baldur's Gate II like a mad thing. I am OBSESSED. It is so much fun. Dungeons and Dragons has been my love since I was a tiny child but BG is just....stunning.

no one reads my lj so i'm thinking of deleting it. it's kind of pointless. or maybe i'll get a new username.
my first exam is in three weeks and i have been run off my feet with reports/assignments (4000+ words each, yo) and tests.
i feel dull and empty. i've just been trying to finish another report so i can start studying properly.
last weekend i managed to have some fun and went and saw THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS and SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. they were both so very good; one heartbreaking and the other uplifting.

uni is boring and i still haven't posted my ADIML. i wonder if i ever shall?

is there any point in keeping this thing going? even i'm not interested in what i have to say.

dario argento. your films shall be devoured by yours truly as soon as i have a little time. as will rosemary's baby and exorcist III since the first one now holds such charm. father damien karras...

sorry for the recent lack of entries but i've been reeaaally busy. and no one really reads this thing anyhow. i don't know why i keep writing! oh well.

i've had tests coming out my ears. my mind is a seething mass of cytokine names and muscle functions. been getting goodie goodie marks for all my slaving though, so at least it's worth it.

i did ADIML last week and i guess i better post it. it's really boring though because i realised i didn't really do anything other than go to uni really early (which i have to, 3 times a week. i get up at ten to six and catch a five to seven bus. on the other two days i take a five to eight bus. it's heavenly), dissect an ovary (which i couldn't take pictures of) and come home late and work.

yesterday i went to the doctor. on sunday i was playing my incredibly fun jazz piece (Alligator Crawl/House Party Stomp by Fats Waller) when suddenly my left pinky started hurting like hell. later on a large, luridly bruised, pink and purple lump appeared there. the doctor says it's a ganglion and it might go away by itself. otherwise i gonna need a bit o surgery. hooray. it's mainly because the stupid jazz has a ten note stretch (or is it 11???) and i have a pretty small hand and can only make it because it's my left hand. it hurts alot! the doctor also took my blood pressure and was alarmed when i pretty much fainted afterwards. my blood pressure is distressingly low. he wants to do blood tests. i have been instructed to eat a buttload of salt and drink EVEN MORE water than i'm already drinking. it's hard to do this when i'm at uni from seven to six every freaking day. i had my BP taken because, i have had fainting fits when i get up since i was tiny but they're happening constantly now and i nearly black out each time i stand up. even if it's slowly. and i black out if i stand up for too long. vomit.

so yah. i'm pretty good. busy studying, piano-ing, fainting. i have a german guy friend who looks like dolph lundgren and is so nice but sends really weird cryptic texts. when he gets mad he sounds like ah-nuld. hehe.

my dad is overseas for a month. he's already been over for two trips, 2 weeks each in the last couple of months. he's going to panama. gross, swine flu.

i haven't written anything in forever. i really want to. i want to watch ravenous but the scaffolding is blocking our sky reception so no mysky recordings. event horizon is so good. as is the wrestler. mickey rourke was spectacular and i wept a little. rocky II is funny and so cheeseball. dead ringers still excites me: i want to be caught in a jeremy irons sammidge. the hotter twin is still beverly. i'm going to call my male twins beverly and elliot (bev and ellie). there should have been a slashy scene between the twins in the movie. it's in the book! you disappoint me mr cronenberg.

hallo. it is now mid-semester break! hooray. not. i have four tests/exams in the first two weeks back, three labs in the first week and two assignments due the first day back! but i'm happy to be on break because my uni schedule was killing me. classes & labs from 8 to 5 almost every day with about one hour break each day. i have to wake up at six to catch the seven o'clock bus and i don't get home until six because of the stupid road works everywhere. guh. on top of that i have a hard out new piano teacher who is making me work my ass off.

so, despite the stressful impending studytimes, i am happy to be able to stay at home. despite the fact that the painters will be swarming all over the freaking house! hehe. we might be going to the bach for easter but i'll have to stay inside and study. poos.

charlotte is having a bogus 'drinks evening' tonight because she got gold duke of ed or something stupid like that. i don't want to go because i don't want to see her nor her stupid nakul.

mwah. lovelovelove. my dad went to egypt for two weeks.

i haven't watched a movie in months :(

David Byrne was unbelievable. So wonderful. The show was beautiful and vivid and performed with such zest and enthusiasm.
People were dancing in the aisles (old foges, kind of annoying) b/c it was at Aotea. Ew last time I was there...naked Ian McKellan!
Anyway, they just looked so happy, David and the band and their dancers. They donned tutus for 'Burning Down The House'. Neil Finn came on and sang a duet early on - Liam Finn was sitting three rows in front of us. The highlights for me where defo:
- Help Me Somebody (from My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, a monumentally groundbreaking sampling album) sans sample (legal issues apparently) with David standing in for the black preacher.
- Take Me to the River
- Burning Down The House
- Once In A Lifetime
Oh so splendid! Stuff I recognized from the new album sounded sexcellent too, there be some funky rhythms amongst those tracks!

So... TONIGHT I AM SEEING NINE INCH NAILS LIVE AT VECTOR ARENA! Ahhhhhhh! I'm so excited! Been waiting for this for a long time as I have been a big time NIN fan since about fifth form. Trent Reznor! In person! OMG woop woop. I will definitely purchase a shirt (the ones at DByrne were okay but were just the new album cover) and explode with pleasure and wowness when they come on stage. I've been building this up for so long that I am scared of disappointment or that I will cry. All I know is that when it's over I'm going to be devastated! But I can't wait, at the same time! NIN are definitely in my Top 5, probably Top 3 artists/bands of all time.

I've been waiting umpteen years for this. Been a fan of DB and Talking Heads since I was about thirteen (and 'Burning Down The House' since I was nine).

I first got into Talking Heads in a major way when Dad made me listen to 'Take Me To The River' and the rest of the 'More Songs About Buildings And Food' when I was thirteen.

He's teh awesome and so artistically talented and adorable.

I turned 19 yesterday! I had my Grade 8 piano exam in the morning and then had a dim sum lunch at Pearl Garden. Then we had a delicious dinner of rack of lamb and I had a chocolate cake with pink Vienna icing. Yum. It was a nice birthday.

I stayed up till one o'clock last night and turned on my comp to update but my smelly father had turned the internet off. So this feels delayed but...

WOOP! It was so exhilarating watching last night. We no longer have to see the snaggle toothed smirking face of that fugly big balled Helen Clark or the smug sweatiness of that dumb-shit Michael Cullen. Goodbye and Good riddance!

OMG! I can't believe I made a new layout. It still needs some fine tuning and it's a little schonky, I know, but I find it orgasmic!
Videodrome is still my favourite movie EVER. Oh I'm so excited by my layout *immature outburst* What a lame-o.
So, I have one exam left and the US election has come and gone. It was exciting. Ours is tomorrow and...IT BETTER BE GOOD OR I'M GOING TO START A RIOT, DON'T SCREW US OVER MMP!!!!!! stupid-ass system designed for post-nazi germany. bleugh.
My paroonts are going out tonight so I am going to have a movie marathon and eat burgers and chips like the fattie I am. Woop!

I REALLY need to see a whole buncha movies these holidays. I want to see the original Tobe Hooper TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and a sexy-as movie called MINI'S FIRST TIME. That looks erotic.
